There was in fact a motion drafted in 2003 for the Canadian government to look into Annexing Turks and Caicos. And the island has tried to set up a 'special relationship' with Canada

Ironically, it was a Conservative MP who was pushing special relations with the islands. Sometimes reality is the funniest thing around!
Well, if the Islands WANT to join Canada (or sort-of join), I'm all for letting them...
