So heres some fun facts... Ugg boots have been in america since 1978. So, the fact that Western girls have been wearing them for the past 3 years - not such a big trend or fashion statement. They have been sold in Australia for years before that as they were made on the beaches there of - and here's the kicker - Sheepskin.
And they dont try to hide that, either. "UGG Australia has gone from a small time surf brand to the global leader in luxury sheepskin footwear." says so right on the website (uggaustralia.com). Could someone please explain to me how wearing sheepskin boots that have been around for over 25 years is trendy!

I fear I may be part of a minority of men who couldn't give a rat's ass what kind of footwear a woman has on. They're shoes, they're the most utilitarian clothing item you wear.
If you think shoes are the thing that bridges the gap between you being cute and note cute, you have bigger issues than people thinking you're outdated.

I will not be defending the girls who basically sent all females back to the 1950s by suggesting that we only get dressed to please men...in fact, I sort of feel they should be shot. However, I am the proud owner of two pairs of Ugg boots. I once railed against them like all of you and I did not buy them to be cute; I still think they're ugly. But let's be honest, winter is cold and running shoes are not comfortable when snow is seeping in at the ankle: Ugg boots are the answer. Get over it, guys.

dude, you can waterproof uggs...like most boots made of animal hide, you spray them and they are waterproofed...badda boom, badda bing.

when i first came to western, i too thought ugg boots were ugly and overdone. But over the past few years, i've gone through many boots that just weren't comfortable enough for my 10 hour days on campus...and not nearly half as wam as ugg boots. Most people don't know that you're not supposed to wear socks with ugg boots. It helps insulate the heat around your feet. The natural sheep shearling wicks away sweat and molds to the shape of your foot. Go ahead, i dare you to try them on. As my roommate Holly says, "it's like walking on clouds..."
I don't understand why so many people bash on Ugg boots. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions...and although there are girls out there like "Ugg Boots Girl" and "Big Bag Girl," not everyone who owns a pair of Ugg boots think like them.
I own a pair of Ugg boots and I LOVE them. I live in a place where it gets super cold in the winter, so they help keep my feet warm. However, I also think they're cute ( if they're not worn with super short shorts or a mini skirt ).
I personally think Crocs are uglier but I also own a pair of Crocs and they are super comfortable as well. I just wonder why more people flame Ugg boots than Crocs. But like I said, everyone is entitled to their own opinions so...
I just find it funny how heated people get talking about how much they hate Ugg boots and can't stand seeing other people wear them.
At least people that wear running shoes don't let them get full of salt stains, and they typically don't scuff their feet when they walk!
AND, what's with the LuLu Lemon tights and Ugg boot combination?! -- it's the Western uniform!
I think it doesn't matter if a guy likes your shoes... if he likes them a lot I would find another man.
