"PS: No, I will not go home with you."
Girl: (To guy who has just brought her a beer) I really appreciate that you got me a beer without asking what I wanted. And you know, I get that you're a student, and funds are short. But you know if you want to go the domestic route, Blue is the same price, but a lot better. [pause] Actually, do you want this back? Really, I don't think I can drink it. But thanks for the thought anyway.

was she wearing uggs?
thats too funny
Way to bash Labatt Blue.... I mean they just got eight frickin' huge beer tanks. Did no one watch about the convoy for the past two days on the news?!?!
I got that she wanted blue instead of whatever they brought her...so I don't think it's blue bashing, more blue promoting!
typical snob comment...this is why everyone assumes the worst of you when you say you go to western...
"typical snob comment...this is why everyone assumes the worst of you when you say you go to western... "
Or maybe, you jackass, she didn't really want the drink because she didn't want to get GHB or Rohyphonol in her drink... Yay for being "so picky" and "snob -like" that you don't get RAPED!!!!
The above comment was made be a certified, paranoid idiot.
I dunno... the way I see it is this: If you buy somebody (anybody) a drink w/out asking what they want, you run the very real risk of buying them something that they really don't like; no matter how much that drink cost.
Think about it, you've bought a random drink and hoping/assuming they like it. This is the case no matter who the buyer or recipient is.
"The above comment was made be a certified, paranoid idiot. "
Ever been drugged fucker? I guess it only happens to GOOD LOOKING people.... so I'm sure you won't have to worry...
Biatch, No One Has Ever Been Drugged Before, Its All A Conpiracy Against Males. Fuckign MADD Can Go To Hell!
Right... just like the Holocaust never happened
I still don't get how MADD has anything to do with drugging women with Rohypnol?
Anyway, here's a quick thought, less anger, more no anger.
My preference is not domestic beer, but then again, if a friend bought me a blue, I'd drink the piss out of respect. If some random broad at the bar bought me a drink and it wasn't what I liked, I probably would drink it or give it to a friend who liked domestic.
There's nothing wrong with having preferences, nor voicing them in a polite manner.
Plus, who buys random girls at the bar drinks? That's kinda desperate.
Amen.
Yeah seriously. I say good for her for having some self-respect.
you'd think the guy wouldn't want to appear that desperate...but then again you'd think the girl would know how to say "no thanks" politely.
As for the drugging issue, there's never been a *reported* case of it in Ontario, but it's very hard to prove, so I understand her being careful.....
if you believe there has never been a *reported* case of it, you're an idiot. Just because it doesn't make front page doesn't mean it's not involved.
And guess what jackass, they can test for drugs in your system .... oh wait, they've been able to do that for YEARS with breathalyzers.
Anyone who thinks it is a myth... you need to pull your head out of your ass *the leprechauns are TELLING you to!!!*
Okay, you obviously feel very strongly about this, but you are COMPLETELY MISCONSTRUING what I said:
1)As of one year ago, there had not been, according to official sources, (i.e. police) an confirmed case of Rohyphonol drugging in Ontario. This is not just what is in the papers. This doesn't mean it hasn't happened.
2) Please Note: I am NOT the same guy who said it was a myth. I'm sure it has happened. I even said "I understand being careful". I was merely noting that there are two sides to the issue, given the (apparent) rarity of it happening.
3) Before you call me a "jackass", know your facts. The drugs in question CAN NOT BE TESTED WITH A BREATHALYZER. They require substantial blood tests at a hospital that need to be taken right away and can miss the drug. I know; I've had friends undergo these tests and even doctors have said that there's no sure way to know.
To restate my original point: We don't know how often these drugs have been used, or if it is a common risk, because cases of the use of them have not been confirmed. Part of this is because of some difficulty in testing. But regardless, being careful about it is understandable.
So can you please avoid insulting people this time?
Fuck you, you patronizing bastard. I didn't say that breathalyzers were for drugs... Clearly you misunderstood, I was just making a point that the technology is out there to test for this stuff... as it is not like breathalyzers are new, thus, we have had testing technology for a while... and since technology generally progresses, it is safe to say that it would make sense to have the technology now.
I know 2 individuals who have been drugged, and who have had the blood tests to prove it.
That is why I'm passionate
Okay,
1) it was not my intention to be patronizing. I'm sorry if it came off that way. Some people do not have knowledge of this kind of thing and what I said was factually true.
2) As I mentioned, the reports I was referring to were from last year. Also, the vast majority of possible incidents go unreported. I never said it didn't happen or that it wasn't reasonable to be nervous about it. Quite the opposite. All I said was that we don't know that it happens frequently.
3)What happend to your friends was horrible. As I mentioned, one of my friends was involved in a *suspected* case of it, (the tests came back negative), so I can sympathize.
4) Regardless of the advances in technology, the tests available are still of questionable reliabilty. I'm sure you know this. This is what makes it hard to determine if/when it has happened.
It seems we mostly agree on this issue, and that the differences of opinion are only a matter of degree.
So I don't think insults are necessary.
fair enough, I apologise for the insults.. I totally misunderstood your intention
