Hey, kind of like the Gazette.
A girl takes a coupon from a Bay employee.
Guy: What are you doing? You're not going to use that!
Girl: $25 off my next $100 purchase at the Bay? No, probably not. I
just wanted to see what it was.
Guy (getting louder): But what a waste! I never take those!
Girl: Well, what am I supposed to do? I'm not going to give it back at
this point...
Guy: IT'S JUST SENSELESS BUTCHERING OF TREES!!!

I don't follow how the girl not taking a coupon would have prevented their production.
obviously if NO one took a coupon then there would be no reason to make more coupons. One person can make a difference.
umm hello...if she was spending money at the Bay, why wouldn't she take the coupon for $25 off?
Actually if no one took the coupon, they would realize the current marketing campaign is failing, which means they would use up MORE trees on more elaborate advertising strategies.
Better to work towards more realistic evironmental contributions like not drinking from paper cups or if you are REALLY that upset about the coupons, do something more productive like write the company and tell them about it. Not taking one simply doesn't accomplish anything.
Haha, I actually thought he was joking...
hahaha oh god, people. come on. we all know the environment is shot. we all know he was clearly joking when he yelled that. we all know we need to do more towards not ruining our earth. but come on. the story was just funny. i know i'd laugh were i shopping next to them.
