No, that's just boredom.

Guy: I got epilepsy last year. I kept falling asleep in class every five minutes.
Girl: Really, that's weird.

um... narcolepsy, maybe... I would be concerned if I was having violent siezures everytime I was in a particular class.. maybe it's a situatoin like Kramer had on Seinfeld, when he would have a seizure everytime he heard that TV personality's voice

Perhaps instead of catching epilepsy last year, he actually caught stupidity

Dear 1:51 and 9:06 (but 9:06 mostly),

Epilepsy is a disorder of the nervous system, characterized either by mild, episodic loss of attention or sleepiness (petit mal) or by severe convulsions with loss of consciousness (grand mal).

yeah... but for petit mal, the sleepiness still occurs AFTER the seizure.. most people who have petit mals stare blankly for a while first while the seizure is occurring, then suddenly feel extremely tired... which I guess is the same effect some people have during lectures

For petit mal there is no seizure. Period.

It's not a seizure in the traditional sense (ie. a grand mal seizure), but it's still an 'absence seizure', which can involve staring off into space and/or twitching....possibly followed by falling asleep in class. ;)
