You don't know her, Jerry.

Trailer Trash Girl: [Tiffany] just told me she was fuckin’ 13 years old when you fucked her.
Dumbass Boyfriend: I didn’t fuckin’ know that. She looked older than that. She told me she was older than that. I was 18. It was a fuckin’ long time ago. I’m sorry. Do you accept my apology? Are you still mad?
Trailer Trash Girl: A little...
Dumbass Boyfriend: You’re my family now ... you’re all that matters to me. I care about you too much. I don’t fuckin’ want you to go to jail. If you want, I can come with you to court.
(Trailer Trash Girl still pretends to be mad.)
Dumbass Boyfriend: Listen, I love you too much to lose you. I’ll be so fuckin’ mad at you if you don’t have this kid. I want you, and I want this kid.
Trailer Trash Girl: We’ll see.

haha... that UBC comment was cute... I am a realist and I agree with McGill and UofT being as good as and in some respects better than UWO... but UBC.... come on... that comment was clearly from a student who goes there and tried to tried to throw the name of his/her school in the mix in hopes nobody would notice, when in reality UBC is just not at the same level than any of the other 3... so do yourself a favour and climb down to Wreck Beach and keep eating your special cookies.. k?

10:30 am -- I'm so sick of people slagging on Ryerson; yeah we were a college once LONG ago, big deal, we’ve had OUAC’s highest number of applicants this year, are constantly doing construction to expand our campus, and are adding new courses and programs every year. From what I’ve heard from friends who attend your school, from what I’ve seen from being on your campus myself, and from what I’ve read on this site - although ‘Overheard’ is CLEARLY not a great reflection of the entire population of Western students - I would not be bragging about going to UWO. All it seems like to me is a bunch of elitist snobs, running around in Ugg boots, being mean to each other, and sometimes going to class.

At least Ryerson feels like a community; one in which students and faculty are working together to make what is sure to be one of Ontario's leading schools. I'm not saying that Ryerson is as reputable [yet] as some of the other Universities, but it certainly does not deserve the bad mouthing narrow minded people like you participate in. Plus, it cannot be forgotten that we have a Professor who won the title of best lecturer in Ontario, a positive reflection of the amazing faculty and student body that make up Ryerson.

Of course you've got the most applicants, that's because you're the last chance for everyone.

Hahaha, 8:51pm... AWESOME!!! I was thinking the exact same thing as to why they got the most applicants!

Oh please, 6:24! Rye is definitely the easiest school to get into - especially for the next couple of years. You see (and I speak as a recent Rye grad), the school is trying it's darndest to move away from the college stereotype and into a more university respected arena. It's trying desperately to compete with the big boys. Hence the acceptance of many, many people. Size does matter. The more students, the more federal and provincial funding. The more funding, the larger the expanision of the university, the larger the expansion, the better the quality of education and so forth. Once Ryerson has grooved itself nicely into the system, it will do well. But for now kid, this uni is just a baby and must pay it's dues just like everywhere else. Don't be ashamed though, embrace it...you (and I) were some of the first to lead the way and give this school a chance. So quit your whining and accept that Ryerson sucks. Peace.

6:24-->BOO HOO! If you don't like what you're reading/seeing then stay away. And the only reason the Ryerson prof won was because Western profs were too busy doing actual important research and didn't have time to enter some silly reality TV competition.

8:29 you are SO right the area surrounding London is definitely hick. Areas to the south moreso than the areas to the north. Although Perth County is quite white trash with all the crystal meth and all.

BAM, well done, 9:43. Yeah...Ryerson isn't even NEAR the top of the list for good universities...we're 3rd:) Technically 2nd this year, but yeah, I'd brag about going to UWO ANY DAY before bragging about being at Ryerson...count yourself lucky though, at least you're not at Brock...because everyone can walk and talk. Rather than being blindly patriotic towards your university, read the stats...yes, we do have rich kids, but Western's an awesome community, and no, everyone isn't mean to eachother, most of it is in good fun - as at any other university. Rather than crying to your mom (or in this case, an anonymous blog) about how people are bad-mouthing the university you're at, face the facts, and smell the coffee...or lack of a good reputation.

11:16 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

11:16 - you're doing a great job of proving that UWO is a bunch of snobs, kudos. :)

(whether or not your statements warrant snobbiness is another matter entirely)

as a side note, i'm surprised york hasn't been mentioned at all yet. surely, you people don't believe it's actually hard to get into york? O_o

i see alot of jews on the main campus too. Don't really see how the problem is isolated in Huron.

5:22 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

not that lots of jews is a problem

5:23 PM

Yeah, there are tons of them... go to any sociology class on main campus (not just Huron!) and there they are!

5:35 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Your use of "they" to imply an entire race of people who can't necessarily be picked out of a crowd - they lives lives based around an IDEOLOGY, not an image - suggests you've never once been NEAR a sociology class, kiddo...

Hey, 8:29, you ever visited Dungannon, Zurich or Ashfield Township? The back woods of Huron County can be scary. Dungannon's not horrible, but it's Dungannon... And Zurich, it has all of 4 surnames in the phonebook. Everyone's related in one giant pool.

In response to the elitist snobbery taking place here, I would like to remind you all that although it would be nice to lean on the 4+ years you spend in post secondary school as the basis of your reputation, that the institution you received your piece of paper from does very little for your future workplace status. Once you manage to get your first job or two, employers are much more concerned with your work experience and reputation than where you studied. Everyone these days has a degree, don't think it makes you special. You're not promoted based on your education, but on your experience and skill.

Also, I would like to add that Ryerson is not necessarily the easiest school to get into. Programs such as Journalism, Radio and Television, Theatre Performance/Dance/Production, are all extremely difficult to be accepted into. Please consider that every university has courses that it specializes in, and courses that it doesn't. Just because it's easy to get into a BA program at Ryerson doesn't mean it's easy to get into all the other programs.
For example, the Theatre Production program requires portfolios, letters of recommendation, and personal interviews for their admission process. Out of approximately 900 applicants, about 60 were accepted, and that was an unusually large class. They hope to bring the numbers down to 40 by next year.

So please do not be so arrogant to assume that just because you had an easy time of getting into Ryerson, that members of every program did.
Or for those from other universities, please do not be so arrogant to assume that your program of choice is the ultimate basis for comparison between universities that specialize in different areas of study.

I'd like to add to 2:34

Ryerson is DEFINALLY not an easy university to get into

out of 1000+ applicants to arch
around 500 go to interviews

interview = essay test and sketching test

and around 110 students get offers

thats like 10%...definally not easy to get into...
ryerson is a new university (15 years to be exact) of course they can't compete with other schools who have more experiance.
But ryerson is definally growing and earning rep.

The lecturer who won the award deserves it, he is spending MORE time teaching the future generations, so students are better prepared for their careers. compared to the other profs who dont know your name, and spend more time in the lab then helping students.
