The term "Mrs major" invokes a special kind of rage for me (I dunno if any other girls out there feel the same way).
How dare you assume that any woman at this school is only here to find a husband. The vast majority of women at western are in fact here to learn. Men are just as guilty when it comes to not taking school seriously.
I can't speak for the person who posted that comment but....
The term "Mrs. Major" is not based on any assumption. There exists, on this campus, as on many, a small minority of female students whoose major purpose for being here is to find a rich guy. I know quite a few of them. They are frequently open about it. People like that do exist.
The term "Mrs. Major" does not refer to "any" woman on campus, nor to women on campus generally. It refers to a specific, small subset. If the term was referring to an entire gender, it would obviously make sense for you to be angry.
You are absolutely right that there is a signifcant portion of the male students here who do not take school seriously, and are only here to get wasted/laid etc. In fact, I am completely sure that this group significantly outnumbers the "Mrs. Majors".
I'm sure somone can come up with an inventive term for them.
