I don't see what's so humourous about this statement. It's just a statement of an actual fact, that certain Swiss Chalet restaurants do not offer vegetarian alternatives (like stir fries made with tofu instead, for example). For vegetarians (who, by the way, might ascribe to the diet for medical instead of just ethical reasons), all they offer are foods that don't have meat to begin with.
people with chronic kidney failure can't eat meat (these are not dying people - they can live decades with the disease) people with high blood sugar/congested heart disease are also encouraged to cut down on meat due to the cholesterol content
also... too much meat produces ketones in your body which leads to colon cancer.. and since some people don't cook their meats properly, there are a lot of pathogenic parasites that you can be infected with. (p.s. i'm not a vegetarian)
Cutting down on meat and cooking it properly is different from being a vegetarian. People with kidney disease can eat meat, they're just suposed to eat less of it. Tofu is also high in protein.
2:09 here. I've never pushed my choice not to eat meat on anyone else, and I'm continuously flummoxed as to why so many people feel the need to criticize my dietary choices, or quickly make statements confirming why they themselves would never be a vegetarian. I don't personally feel comfortable eating meat, but I'm not going to stop you from ingesting what you please. In some cases, it's just a matter of preference, like how some people don't eat spicey foods. People can be advised not to eat meat for the benefit of their health, or because of allergies / digestive defiencies. Also, bread is not a meal for ordering on the menu at Swiss Chalet, it comes with your meal. You -can- order salad or fries as your meal, but you cannot request any meals with meat-substitutes. There are some outlets that do carry veggie burgers, but I do not recommend them.
It's funny because Swiss Chalet's franchise is based on CHICKEN. It's like going to a vegetarian restaurant and being shocked that there aren't any meat options. Dumbasses.
Many vegetarians end up at restaurants such as Swiss Chalet and other "family" restaurants because their family and/or friends want to go, and they want to be polite and understanding. If their family member wishes to go to Swiss Chalet for a birthday, for example, they want to make that family member happy. Having a token vegetarian option makes it more likely for groups containing 1+ vegetarian to eat at your restaurant, and is therefore good business sense.
I just tried the veggie burger at Swiss Chalet and it was really good! Not as good as a real meat burger, but better than a McD burger. Try both without condiments and you'll see what I mean.
Thank you, people need to educate themselves! These people all have a deadly virus, they are all mind controlled sheep who believe the government food pyramid. Wake up, read a book for the love of the planet! The meat industry is the number one devastating to our environment, and karma is a bitch, all you ignorant fools are consuming high amounts of growth hormones(gender confusion), antibiotics that are making you resistant to them, and high amounts of cholesterol. Yes the vegetarians and vegans have gone crazy! Meat heads!

Vegetarians are stupid. Cows, chickens, lamb, fish, tigers. They were all put on this Earth for us to eat and enjoy.
They have a veggie burger at swiss chalet...

What kind of medical reason is there to be a vegetarian?
being a douchebag might be considered some sort of medical disability...
people with chronic kidney failure can't eat meat
(these are not dying people - they can live decades with the disease)
people with high blood sugar/congested heart disease are also encouraged to cut down on meat due to the cholesterol content
And some people just can't process complex proteins. I know a couple of people who are vegetarian for that reason.
That said: 2:09, did you miss the header? Bread, while not nutritionally able to stand alone, doesn't usually contain meat products.
*sigh*
Reason/common sense is lost on some people.

10:03.. those were some of the beneficial medical reasons to be a vegetarian... way to take it out of context
This is almost as bad as the Ivey vs Everyone Else rants...
The question was "What kind of medical reason is there to be a vegetarian?" The answer is that there isn't one.
^ but at least they leave more tasty animals around for the rest of us!
meat is murder...tasty, tasty, murder

4:59 - Actually, it's not like that at all. Dumbass.
2:09, you're 8:20 comment is random and uncalled for. No one has critized your choices since 1:56.
Wow, someone needs to enforce signing in to post. Referring to people by their timestamp can get really confusing.(see above)
Not to mention, it would probably cut down on a lot of the ass-clown comments that plague OAW.
"They have a veggie burger at swiss chalet...
2:18 AM"
This is the only sane post here. And true, an ok veggie burger....
and veggie stir-frys. sans chicken.
Red meat =
high in bad fats compared to most other foods
antibiotics, hormones, and infection present in the meat from the way they raise the stock
high in cholesterol
red meat is proven to increase chances of being diagnosed with cancer
the animals you eat are fed garbage, so that's exactly what you get when you eat them
No medical reason? Doubtful. Eating meat is fine by me, but please do your best not to be ignorant.
I hate it when people are wrong on the internet...for some reason it becomes so important to say my piece.
