Um, obviously. We've already got, like, at least 3 Starbucks locations!

Torontonian Girl #1: I just found out London has an airport!
Torontonian Girl #2: Really? You mean London really is a place?

Is it bad that I find it so upsetting that "Torontonian" is spelled wrong?

I am ashamed. I also realise that by pointing out a spelling mistake, I've almost certainly made one myself.

Why are you ashamed for pointing out an error? Also, your spelling is perfect. Word choice, not quite so much; I'd have said "in pointing out" rather than "by pointing out."

And I am not ashamed of pointing that out. :P

11:48, don't worry about not being ashamed of pretentiously pointing out other people's errors, you can still be ashamed of being such a fucking douche bag.

2:02,

I don't really see how pointing out an error is pretentious. I'm not "pretending" anything. I'm not trying to say I'm better than you. I know almost nobody proofreads his/her typing as, yes, obsessively as I do mine. Call it a character flaw if you will, but I love the language I speak and write and it hurts when I see it misused.

11:48, at least you found a use for your worthless english lit. degree in pointing out grammatical mistakes in an online blog. Hey, to each his own I guess.

Also, in future please feel free to just send a nice little email pointing out the mistake. Nobody here at OAW is grammatically challenged (in spite of the fact that not one of us has an English degree), but when you're rushing to get a few new posts up in the middle of a hectic school day, things are sometimes overlooked. That kind of error, in particular, is easy to skim over and miss.

Don't make OaW defend themselves! Nobody made Jesus defend himself!

So, the quote itself is pretty funny.

9:13,

I'm actually a music student. I know, just as useful, right?

To the OaW maintainers, sorry, we didn't mean to make a huge deal about it. Stuff happens.

I don't know; they've fixed it up pretty well in recent years. Certainly better than most of the small airports I've been in.
