Ah, science.

Girl: Drinking cow's milk is so unnatural for humans to do. That's why people are lactose intolerant.
Guy: It's clearly not THAT bad, or not as many people would be drinking it.
Girl: It totally is, it'd be like ... cows drinking turtle milk.

I wouldn't drink milk from the U.S.... far too sketchy. And they (the government, media, companies that do it) know it too, but if the people haven't really put up much of a fuss, then why change? It's profitable, nobody's causing enough of a racket for them to want to change, so they'll keep on being profitable... cause that's what for-profit organizations do, right?
dazz.

odd thing? the chick was somewhat right. cow's milk is a lot different than breast milk, making it harder to digest than, say goat's milk, which is really similar.
but have you ever tasted goat's milk? ugh.

Cow's milk is terrible for human consumption. Approx. 90% of the world's population is lactose intolerant...maybe that's a sign we shouldn't be drinking the stuff. Blech...

yes because asians have a gene that makes them intolerant...and that's a lot of the world's population...in north america I've heard it was like 10 or 20 %.

Think about it. Are we supposed to drink our mother's milk past a year or two? no. Obviously we're not supposed to drink milk. We naturally become intolerant because we're not supposed to drink it. But we do, so who cares?

I SAID THIS 1 YEAR AGO IN THE NUCLEUS or what used to be the nucleus AS A JOKE!!! who ever said this needs their own material!! a turtle is an extreme but makes sense, diff species milk, for another species, equals not natural.

Do you really think someone was plotting and waiting for a year to steal your turtle-milk joke?? Or also that you're the only smarty-pants science person who knows drinking another species' milk is unnatural?? I think I learned that when I was 12. God, I hate science kids.

I hesitate to say this, but at the risk of looking silly... we all caught the fact that turtles aren't mammals, right?

Actually, people are naturally intolerant to milk. After stopping brast-feeding the gene shuts off and one becomes intolerant to lactase. Over thousands of years Europeans (who drank their goat herds milk) have developed a tolerance to milk. That's why most Asians can't drink it. So drinking cow's milk has no negative effects on people. God, and I'm not even in Science, I'm in Political Science.
