Feminists: their mandate is man-hate
Girl #1: And then we'll head to Barney's for the Mr. Barney's pageant, so we can objectify and ridicule men!
Girl #2: Sounds awesome! I usually just ridicule men, so objectification will be a nice change.

I can't believe the title of this post. What an asinine, generic, and terribly incorrect thing to say. Maybe you should post that in ridicule, alongside these things overheard at Western.
As a female and notoriously (oh, believe me, notoriously) feminist member of the Overheard at Western team, I have no problem with the title. It's okay to laugh at ourselves. Hypersensitivity is one of the things that contributes the stereotype of feminists as humourless and bitter.
I am certain that the readers of this site are well aware of a) the fact that much of what is written here is sarcastic and not meant to be taken seriously and b) the fact that feminists are not actually singly-mandated man-haters.
Still, I apologize, since you were offended, and believe me when I say that no one who posts here is anti-feminist. (Otherwise, they'd probably run me out of town with torches and pitchforks.)

Thanks for your response. I don't consider my comment hypersensitive, because I've heard people say sincerely that they believe that feminists are man-haters. But if the title was meant to be playfully jocular, then I have no problem with it.
